Neighborhoods

This luxury home is located just a few minutes from vibrant downtown Sausalito where one can enjoy great dining, shopping, as well as parks, a beach, a playground and Sausalito’s iconic Bridgeway Boardwalk where tourists from all over the world come to spy that magnificent San Francisco skyline view over the Bay.

Ferry Landing and Golden Gate Transit are also close by for easy commutes to San Francisco or just a visit to San Francisco’s Ferry Plaza Farmers Market and you are surrounded by abundant hiking and biking trails nearby.

Sausalito was named by TRAVEL & LEISURE as “One of the Most Beautiful Coastal Towns in the World (2023)”.

Downtown Sausalito Waterfront: the Sausalito waterfront features great restaurants (Poggio, Copita, Suzette, Barrel House, Napa Valley Burger, Angelino’s, Scoma’s and The Trident just to name a few), shops, and art galleries. Walk along the waterfront looking out over the Bay to see the beautiful skyline of San Francisco.  See if you can spot our beloved Sausalito Sea Lion. Locals love this stretch for morning walks and dog walking.  Boating enthusiasts will find the Sausalito Yacht Club right next to the Ferry Landing where you can take a 30-minute ferry ride into San Francisco. The very popular NO NAME Bar is here too (you guessed it...no name!) Cultural treasures downtown include the Sausalito Center for the Arts with wonderful rotating art displays and the newly imagined ICE HOUSE Museum operated by the Sausalito Historical Society with a state of the art interactive historical exhibit.

And if you want to venture to Fort Baker, you will find gorgeous Cavallo Point Resort – great lunches or cocktails at Farley Bar or Sula’s for fine, special occasion dining. The parade grounds are a haven for picnics and letting the kids and dogs run free. The Spa at Cavallo Point is a haven when you need a little help relaxing.

Caledonia Street: Sausalitans like to call this corridor, which lies just a few blocks beyond the center of town between Johnson and Napa Streets, our "Local's Downtown". Here you will find City Hall, our fabulous library and well-known restaurants such as Sushi Ran, Cafe Divino, Sandrino's Pizza and Vino, Zalta, Sartaj Indian Cafe, Arawan Thai and Sweet Ginger Sushi. Just one block away on Bridgeway, you will find more eateries —- The Joinery, Salito's, Bar Bocce, and Equator Coffee. Services such as Water Street Hardware, more art galleries, jewelry stores, hair salons, pet shampoo, and FireHouse Coffee all offer up most of your daily needs. And last but definitely not least is Sausalito’s favorite “dive” bar, Smitty’s, with pool tables, shuffleboard tables, and jukebox!

Markets: Two locally owned boutique grocery stores give Sausalitans some great grocery shopping options. Driver's Market on Caledonia enjoys a great organic wine section, deli, and cheeses. The newly refurbished Golden Gate Market in Old Town has a new coffee bar, Wednesday Wine Happy Hour and a fabulous deli…a long-time local treasure!  Need a larger store for more basic grocery needs? We have MOLLIE STONES which offers hot food stations, a great meat counter, cheese, and deli as well as an extensive wine and liquor section.

Nearby Parks and Beaches: Dunphy Park just reopened after a major renovation with bocce ball & volleyball courts and access to the Sausalito Cruising Club (members only).  Swede’s Beach is hidden just below 2nd St.  There are brand newly redone playground and tennis courts at Southview Park.  There is also a playground at Robin Sweeny Park with basketball courts in front of City Hall on Caledonia St.; Gabrielson Park, right next to the Ferry Landing, and Sausalito Yacht Club is home of the summertime ‘Jazz by the Bay’ series (every Friday night during the summer).  Schoonmaker Beach (near Le Garage) is also a perfect place for relaxing in the sand by the water – the calm, shallow waters are great for little ones. And don't forget Fort Baker just near the Golden Gate Bridge.... the parade grounds at Cavallo Point where dogs and kids can play and the Discovery Museum for kids!

Sailing, Kayaking, and SUPs: The Sausalito Yacht Club is right next to the Sausalito-SF ferry landing and has sailing classes for youth and adults. Join the Sausalito Cruising Club by Dunphy Park for nearby use of kayaks, paddleboards, and laser sailboats or to enjoy great live music in a casual and friendly environment. Sea Trek (kayaks and SUPs) and Modern Sailing Academy are both along the northern waterfront to the north. And do note the Turney St. boat ramp for easily putting in your SUP or kayak is at the foot of Turney St. & Bridgeway.

Public Transportation:  Just a quick walk down the waterfront to the ferry landing for the Sausalito-SF ferry. Buses from the Golden Gate Transit Authority run to San Francisco with multiple stops along Bridgeway running from the extreme north end of town all the way to the south end.
